Sheet Music Freebie: "Moved with Compassion"

You can access the free sheet music (with an option for low voice and high voice) and piano tracks HERE.

During the "great revision" of 2019, I was busy writing all kinds of music for the new hymnbook and primary book–most of which I have never shared (aside from my two Family History songs: When We Do Family History & Family History Detective.)

While I'm not counting on any of my submissions being accepted for those projects, I am grateful for the summer of 2019 because of the constant collaboration, networking, and connections formed during that time.

One of those connections was with Michael D. Young, whom I wrote several hymn texts with. "Moved with Compassion" is one of my favorites that we penned together.

A few years later, another dear friend, Linda Hartman, set our words to music for solo vocalist and piano. She did a lovely job, and we are happy to share it as our gift to you.

You can access the free sheet music (with an option for low voice and high voice) and piano tracks HERE. (Note: this song is written for teens/adults, not primary children.)

And here are those beautiful lyrics:

Moved with Compassion

By Angie Killian & Michael D. Young

1.The Savior is moved with compassion When seeing His wandering sheep. He suffers with them, understanding The weakness and pain that they keep. All gracious and full of compassion, He walks with us, each precious soul, To succor and shoulder our burdens, To make ev’ry wounded sheep whole. 2. The Savior is moved with compassion When seeing the trials we face. His gentle yoke lightens our heartache Until we enjoy His embrace. All gracious and full of compassion, He carries each suff'ring soul, For just as His touch healed the leper, His presence will ever console. 3. The Savior is moved with compassion When seeing us, each in his debt. He looses the bonds that ensnare us, Sends peace to replace our regret. All gracious and full of compassion, He pays for us, each priceless soul, To save and redeem us from justice, To see every sin paid in full. 4. Now let me be moved with compassion To suffer with all those in need, Forgiving the debt of my neighbor, And giving to those I should feed. All gracious and full of compassion, I’ll walk beside each precious soul To succor and shoulder their burdens, To make ev’ry wounded sheep whole. © 2019 Michael D.
