My wonderful parents started me in piano lessons at age 6, and I have found myself on wooden benches ever since. Blessed by wonderful teachers and mentors, music became my joy, my safe place, my refuge.
After my second child was born, I became lost in the long days--and even longer nights--of motherhood with no perceived identity beyond "mommy" and "milk please." Seeking comfort and a creative outlet, I sat down at the piano again and let the music flow through me. I soon learned I had a talent for words as well and began pairing melodies with musical texts and have been writing songs, hymn texts, and metered poetry ever since.
My husband and I met when we were 15 & 16 and married 2008. We live with our three adorable children & one four-legged fur-friend in our home on the Wasatch Front. When I'm not writing, I love to travel, take pictures, and dream about the future.
