Old Testament Songs + What's Coming?

Every handful of years, my family does a deep dive into the Old Testament, and we are so excited that those books of scripture will be our main focus of study for 2026. I wanted to take a few minutes and share one of my favorite Old Testament songs from four years ago and let you know about some of the new songs that are coming.

I wrote this "oldie" (if you count 2019 as "old") but "goodie" with my friend, Blake Gillette. My children and the children in my congregation absolutely LOVED learning this song! The chorus is so much fun to sing, and the song tells the stories of 13 different Old Testament characters in bite-sized chunks.

My friend Katie D. Higley and I have teamed up to write a few new favorites. The first one coming is about Daniel and the lion's den. This is one of my favorite stories from the Old Testament, and I love how it teaches us to pray, trust God, and choose faith over fear. This song has been living in my head since we wrote it, and I love hearing my children randomly break out into harmonies singing this song. It's really fun to play on the ukulele (my ten-year-old daughter even learned to play it!), but I love it on the piano too. It releases on December 27th at 10:00 a.m. Mountain Time over on my YouTube channel.

HERE is a link to the sheet music.

"Wonderfully Made" is another song I wrote with Katie, and I cannot begin to tell you how excited we are to share this song with you!!! This song covers the creation and being wonderfully made by God. It's so special, the music is so beautiful, and the words are some of the best I've ever penned. We filmed the music video on December 22nd, and it is shaping up to be the cutest ever. Join us on January 10th to hear it. (I will be posting sneak peeks over on my Instagram and Facebook pages for anyone who follows me there!)

Sheet music & tracks are available HERE.

If people show a lot of love to "Daniel's Song," Katie and I are also hoping to share "Esther's Song: For Such a Time as This" and "Jonah's Song: Splish! Splash!" in the coming months.

BONUS: my Easter song for 2026

Not an Old Testament song, but another song I am looking forward to sharing at the beginning of February is "I Believe in Jesus." This is pretty much my testimony in a song, and I hope you love it!
