"I Think of Jesus" - lyrics & inspiration

Our newest song, “I Think of Jesus,” is about one of the best things my grandpa taught me:

See the Creator in His creation.

My grandpa passed away in 2022, and I miss him every day. He showed me the world the way only an artist can see it, and, like his own grandfather, he painted the parts he loved the most: mountain peaks, aspen trees, red rocks, ocean waves, lakes and rivers, and sunsets.

I catch myself using my fingers to "frame" a landscape scene, just like he did. He told me once that he did that because he often saw his own grandfather doing the same thing.

One of my favorite things about the music video for “I Think of Jesus” is that each of the children made their own pictures to go with the song. We loved seeing their creativity shine through their work.

While I didn’t get my grandpa’s artistic ability with oils and watercolors, I do love painting with words.
