I can't imagine what my life would be like without knowing about Jesus' glorious triumph over the grave. This single day gives meaning and purpose to my life! With Easter quickly approaching, I wanted to share my favorite songs to celebrate the resurrection of our Savior and Redeemer.
"I Believe in Jesus" is our newest release, and it is beautiful for Easter!
The second verse especially gets me:
I didn't hold His hand beside the olive tree
Or cry beneath the cross that day at Calvary
I didn't see an angel by His empty grave
Or kneel before the Savior and hear Him say my name
But even though I have not seen
I can still believe
There are several free teaching ideas on my website HERE if you're interested.
By far, our most popular Easter song is "Risen for Me." When I was a little girl, a man in my congregation named Art Troyer told me that "all things point to God's resurrection." He explained that evergreens keep their color all day long, the sun rises every morning, and animals return to the same places year after year. I started seeing symbols of eternity everywhere I looked. I plugged my favorites into this song, and the worlds are some of the best I've ever written.
I especially love this quatrain from the second verse:
And in the promise
Of the fading of the moon
That the dawn is coming soon
I can see Him

This is definitely the most JOYFUL Easter songs on our channel, and I apologize in advance for that delightful chorus that may make a home in your head after you listen to it. It's super catchy, and the children pick up on it so quickly. The song was inspired by the line in "Joy to the World" that says, "heaven and nature sing." How does nature sing their praises to God? Watch the video to see our interpretation.
Lots of teaching ideas available HERE. Fun fact: Joelle and I started this song when we were stranded in the airport in Nashville with a flight delay. Even though that was not a fun experience, I don't think this song would exist as it does without that experience.
When my daughter was approaching her 8th birthday, I wrote her a special song about everything I wanted her to "Always Remember" about her Savior. Above all, I want her to remember that Jesus loves her. Just as she made a promise to "Always Remember" Him, He cannot forget her. Any guesses what the flowers are in the video??? This one is so tender! And it's great for Easter.
The chorus says:
I will always remember that Jesus loves me
That He lived, died, and rose again
To set the whole world free
He will bless me with His spirit
And fill my soul with peace
I will always remember Him
He will always remember me
I can't begin to tell you how beautiful this video is! Huge thank you to Reese Oliveira and her mom, Suzy, for bringing this song to life. It's so lovely! Music for solo or SATB choir is available HERE.

I have some plans for this summer that I'm really excited about!
1) What Would Jesus Do?: This one is so much fun!
2) Be a Little Better: a song about repentance that kids will WANT to sing!
3) The Difference: a folksy youth song about how Jesus changes everything! He is the difference.
And then we're on to CHRISTMAS! How many songs are too many? Asking for a friend. ;) 3? 4?
